GlowTouch President Partners with Mayor Fischer and Louisville Business Leaders to Support Local Entrepreneurial Competition

LOUISVILLE – August 17, 2012 – GlowTouch Technologies, an award-winning IT services firm providing custom application development services and technology integration services to businesses around the globe, announced its participation in the KentuckianaWorks SummerWorks Ice House Entrepreneurial Competition at the JCTC Health Sciences Building earlier this week.

KentuckianaWorks’ SummerWorks is a seasonal youth-employment program championed by Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and generously supported by several Louisville businesses, non-profit foundations, community leaders and the Metro Council. The seven-week program aims to assist young adults in Louisville seeking gainful employment over their summer break.

The Ice House Entrepreneurial Competition represented SummerWorks’ culminating event and consisted of five young aspiring entrepreneurs presenting business pitches to Mayor Greg Fischer and other judges, including GlowTouch President Vidya Ravichandran.

In addition to her participation in the Entrepreneurial Competition and GlowTouch’s active involvement with the SummerWorks program, Ravichandran contributed to a video project for the Ice House program by sharing lessons from her journey as an entrepreneur.

“There is no better time to be an entrepreneur; the myriad of support and resources that is available for young entrepreneurs today are absolutely unprecedented,” said Ravichandran. “Properly preparing our next generation of business leaders is paramount and Mayor Fischer’s dedication, along with so many others in Louisville, to that cause is nothing short of remarkable.”
